On April 8, International Roma Day, at ELTE TÓK — as everywhere in the world — we celebrated Roma culture. The all-day event was the second event of this year’s program series titled Diversity and Inclusion II organized by the Department of Social Sciences, carried out in collaboration with students of the Cultural Mediation MA program.
Our guests were Róbert Bordás and Kristóf Horváth, with whom Eszter Boda, a student of the Cultural Mediation MA program, discussed poetry films. We watched the portrait film Omara by Béla Balázs Award-winning film director Edit Kőszegi. We also participated in a visual arts workshop led by painter Zoltán Hájas, and finally, under the moderation of Zoltán Csorba, we talked with Edit Pusztainé Bártfai, head of the “Biztos Kezdet” Children’s House in Józsefváros, teacher Szelina Virág, and teacher János Bangó about their experiences in public education/schooling.
