The Faculty of Primary and Pre‑School Education at Eötvös Loránd University will host an international conference on the occasion of Katalin Forrai’s 100th birthday, on September 25, 2026.
On this memorial day, Hungarian and international educators, former colleagues, professionals, students, and friends will gather to honor the memory of the highly esteemed educator, who passed away in 2004. Her intellectual legacy is rich; through decades of dedicated work, she created enduring value, and her professional heritage is of immeasurable significance. Her humanity and moral excellence continue to serve as an example today. She is regarded worldwide as an ambassador of early childhood music education.
Participants will include members and leaders of the International Kodály Society (IKS), representatives of several other musical organizations, and members of the committee that established the International Katalin Forrai Award.
The conference will be opened by Dr. Jerry L. Jaccard (USA), President of the IKS. Invited speakers include Gilbert De Greeve (Belgium) and Prof. Dr. Magda Kalmár (Hungary).
